Finding the best places to see in any city you're visiting can be a real chore but when you're traveling somewhere as vast as London it can be a real minefield.

You could buy a guide book of course, but then you have to lug this around with you on top of the rest of the typical tourist paraphernalia in your pockets and bags. Step forward the London DK Eyewitness Top 10 Travel Guide & Map, a gospel of the best places to go in England's capital, which fits on your mobile device.

The guide, based on the excellent Dorling Kindersley series, is divided into 12 different sections, including Highlights, Top Ten, Around Town, Streetsmart, plus road an transport maps to help you get around. The Top Ten section is particularly well conceived and contains a wealth of different 'best-of' lists, ranging from the top ten exhibits in the Tate Modern, through the top ten nightclubs, to the top places to eat.

I also thought the Sight Index was very useful, as it allows you to quickly view a list of all London's main attractions then find out where they are on a map just by clicking on them.

As with most guides like this, it's worth double-checking the prices of attractions and transport online, as some of it may be out of date.
